An Introduction To A Future Superstar DJ

Hi, My name is Ciaran if you couldn't already tell from the name of my blog. I am 20 years old and I am currently studying Creative Digital Media in University. My biggest accomplishment last year was probably winning two awards for the DJ Society which I was the CEO of last year. I received a member of the year award and the society won best new society. Game Brainstorm

Game 1: Player has to collect coins, hit into red coin, lose a gold coin, try to get as much gold coins without hitting red coins to win. I watched a unity tutorial called " Coin Pickups ". This tutorial showed me how to create a coin shaped collectible that I will need for my first game. The creating of a coin in Unity doesn't seem too complicated and I think I will be able to manage it. The collecting of the coins is done through using scripts which looks a little bit challenging but I think I might get the hang of it with some practise. I am interested in this game as I have always been a fan of stealth games such as the assassins creed series for example. I have previous knowledge of a game called temple run which is slightly similar in the sense of you collect coins and have to avoid moving objects. Unity Tutorial 04

I learnt that the canvas represents the entire screen view and that it overlays everything that is built in the scene. I enjoyed learning how to make a cursor as it wasn't too difficult and it was a very satisfying task to complete. I am looking forward to creating a nice cursor for my own game. I found it slightly confusing to understand how the code worked in relation to the raycast. I discovered that a collider stops a player from walking into things and falling through things. I have also found out how to put a sound effect on a collectible. This means that when a player picks up a collectible in game, a sound will be triggered. I am looking forward to implementing different types of sounds in my own game for collectibles and the player as well. I learnt that if there is ever any problems with your scripting, there will be an error displayed in the console which will tell you where the problem is.
